• Account Information: Name, email address, and password
• Media Content: Photos and videos you upload
• Location Data: GPS coordinates from photos (if available in EXIF data)
• Locations & Years: Place names, years, and notes members add to the shared trip log
• Swag Requests: The item requested, quantity, the name provided, an optional shipping name/address, and notes
• Visitor & Usage Data: Approximate location (city, region, country) derived from your IP address, timestamps, the pages you visit, and your browser's user-agent string

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the CampItUp service
• Store and display photos and videos
• Display photo locations on an interactive map
• Show a map and count of visitors to the site
• Fulfill swag requests
• Authenticate your account access
• Improve our service and user experience

3. Data Storage

Your photos and videos are stored on our secure servers, and we generate thumbnails to make browsing faster. We automatically extract GPS location data from photo EXIF metadata to display locations on our interactive map. Your account information is stored securely on our servers.

4. Public Content and Sharing

CampItUp includes public areas that are visible to anyone on the internet without logging in:

• Public photos: A photo is only made public when a logged-in member checks the "make public" option for it. Public photos appear in the shareable public gallery.
• Locations & Years: The shared trip log (place names, years, notes, and the name of the member who added each entry) is publicly viewable.
• Swag catalog: Item names, descriptions, and photos in the swag catalog are publicly viewable.
• Swag requests: A sanitized summary of requests (item, quantity, status, requester name, and date) is publicly viewable. Shipping addresses, email addresses, and request notes are never shown publicly.

Do not mark content public or add it to a shared area unless you are comfortable with anyone being able to see it.

5. Location Data

If your photos contain GPS coordinates in their EXIF data, we extract and store this information to display photo locations on our map. This feature helps members visualize where their adventure photos were taken. Photo location data is shared with other registered members as part of the shared platform, and appears publicly only for photos that have been marked public.

6. Visitor Logging

To power the visitor map and visitor counter, we log basic information about visits to the site: an approximate location (city, region, and country) determined from your IP address, the time of the visit, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent. We use this to understand where our community is visiting from and to display an aggregate visit count. The detailed visitor log is only viewable by logged-in members; the home-page visitor counter is a simple public total.

7. Swag Requests

Anyone can submit a swag request without an account. When you do, we collect the information you enter (name, shipping details, item, quantity, and notes) so the administrator can fulfill it. Shipping and contact details are visible to the administrator and logged-in members but are never displayed in the public request list.

8. Data Sharing

CampItUp is a shared platform. Uploaded media, the trip log, and the swag catalog are visible to registered members, and the public portions described above are visible to everyone. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Note that this site may serve third-party advertisements, and ad providers may collect data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Request deletion of your account
• Update your account information
• Upload photos without GPS data if you prefer not to share location information
• Keep your photos private by simply not marking them public
